Our Law Services

Referring Lawyers

A major component of our practice is referral, agency and counsel work. This is true across many of the areas in which we practice, including Medical Malpractice, Personal Injury, Disability, Corporate Litigation, Construction, Estate, and Insurance Litigation.

Busy practitioners in a rural or smaller urban setting face time constraints. There may be conflicts due to servicing a large geographic area with few other lawyers. For personal or other reasons, traveling to a large urban centre for applications or other litigation steps may not be feasible. Or there may be certain areas of law that do not arise often and in which a choice is made not to practice.

We can help. We continue to welcome referrals, counsel, and agency work across the spectrum of our areas of practice. We have appeared as agents in Court, running civil trials or appeals, conducting questionings, and drafting and researching written argument.

Please give us a call or drop us a line to discuss how we might assist.

INDIGENOUS LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The lands on which Edmonton sits and the North Saskatchewan River that runs through it have been the sites of natural abundance, ceremony and culture, travel and rest, relationship building, making, and trading for Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. Edmonton is located within Treaty 6 Territory and within the Metis homelands and Metis Nation of Alberta Region 4. We acknowledge this land as the traditional territories of many First Nations such as the Nehiyaw (Cree), Denesuline (Dene), Nakota Sioux (Stoney), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot).

Weir Bowen acknowledges the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude to those whose territory we reside on or are visiting.
